Photos of Fish Creek / Rollins in the 1950's

A place for you to post memories you or your family remember from camping at Fish Creek over the years, as well as any other items of historical nature. Photos would be great too!

Photos of Fish Creek / Rollins in the 1950's

Postby CampADK » Mon Feb 16, 2009 5:32 pm

Had found these photos on the web and Leon Reed who had camped at both Fish Creek and Rollins as a child was kind enough to provide a copy for the website.

Thanks Leon!

That old entrance sign reminds me of something from the Yogi Bear cartoons.

Funny... my family refers to Fish Creek as "Our little piece of Heaven," too.

I took a picture this year that resembles the sun set picture above. My wife commented that the pictures don't look much differenct from today.

Nice Brian! There are some great shots there. Funny how difficult it can be to identify where some were taken. Any of the older maps in your stash?
I'll have to look over some of these more closely later.

Thanks for posting!!

I'll have to ask my mom (she is the little girl in the pics) if she has any old maps or references for the pics. I asked her for some old pics and she hit me with about 100! lol The one I thought was neat was the old beach.

Nice one Brian! Excellent! Thanks for posting i.t

I was just looking through some photos this morning that you have Gail, that somehow I had overlooked! We're got quite a bit of history building on the site. Just love those old photos. I have a lot of historical notes, and along with the old photos that are coming in, the history side of the site is due for a major overhaul this fall.

I have some old photos I have scanned from the early 1960's. Of course not at Fish Creek, but those are always my favourites. I'll have to post a few... you'll get a hoot out of the fashion sense I had back then lol.
