Rollins Pond Campsite Guide and Availability Now Available

Postby CampADK » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:39 pm

Finally! (nearly). Rollins Pond now has a campsite guide including all the details as per Fish Creek, along with lots of photos of each site AND availability.

At this point in time, the only way to access the Rollins Pond Campsite Guide is via the Campers Toolkit. Thus you must be a registered member on the Campers Forum to use it... and unfortunately you won't be able to use Internet Explorer. You'll need a modern web browser like Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.

Photos are available for A section currently and full campsite data and ratings for some of A section.

All photos should be appearing in the next day or two. The campsite data will take another week or so to appear for all sites.

Availability is available for all Rollins sites via the Campsite Tab as well as the Availability tab.

To access the Rollins Pond Campsite guide you need to go into Preferences in the Campers Toolkit and change your Preferred Campground to 'Rollins Pond'. Select your preferences (ie preferred areas and campsite characteristics), and be sure to click on the Update button. Then you can use the Campsite or Availability tabs.

If you set your preferred campground to Rollins Pond, then whenever you access the Campers Toolkit you will be in 'Rollins Pond' mode. Eventually there will be a Map (Navigator) for Rollins and Ranger Jill will provide help for Rollins Pond instead of Fish Creek. Lots of subsequent improvements to integrate everything in the future.

Visit the Campers Toolkit at http://fishcreekpond.com/camptools.php

Cheers

Dave

Due to the differences/characteristics between Fish Creek and Rollins, I'll be adding water access and beach to the ratings and the sliders for rating sites. As well you''ll be able to select based on sites that have easy water access and a decent beach. Thus you can select campsite that have a great beach and/or easy water access which is likely very important to Rollins campers. Some sites have very steep/long paths down to the water which isn't so good for those with small kids. Some have limited and/or crappy waterfront while others have phenomenal beaches.

Any other suggestions much appreciated.

Actually we now have 3 new sliders implemented for choosing importance of campsite characteristics for Rollins...

Water access - you can weight importance on sites that have good water access thus putting priority on sites that don't have those long and/or steep paths down to the waterline

Beach - you can place importance on beach area, thus showing the main beach sites first, followed by those with smaller (mini) beaches.

Privacy - by putting importance on this slider you can choose to give higher priority to sites with the most privacy.

Current ALL of A section has photos, data and ratings.

As mentioned above the rest of the data is now being populated. It will take another week I'd say for all the data to appear.

For non-members of the site, the original Rollins Pond Campsite Guide has been upgraded to include the full set of photos for each campsite (ie over 2,500 photos), along with full details for A section. Sites 1-257 are in process.
