Re: Mosquitoes

We were on 59 from the 12th to the 22nd and we'd get a few mosquitoes in the evening but nothing too bad. However we had family on 207 & 209 and the mosquitoes were insane there. If there wasn't a breeze to keep them away, we were being bitten constantly.

Re: Camper courtesy.

While we were there this year, almost daily we saw trucks with kids hanging out the back and boats being towed down to the ramp filled with kids in the boat. In one instance the little park golf cart passed them and waved. Well if they're not enforcing... Also breaks my heart to see small kid...

Re: Summer 2015 Weather

We were there in July from the 9th to the 18th and for the most part thought the weather was great, one night did get rather chilly in our tent, down to 34F. The black flies and mosquitos were fierce though, for July anyhow. That 34F degree night really gave me the bug to do some fall camping at Fis...

Structures on NY30

I have always wondered about the structures on NY-30 just after you make the turn from Tupper Lake headed up towards Fish Creek. Old motel? The big a-frame building? Does anyone have any history on them? Thanks!

Re: Interesting pending legislation

I don't know if it would change much at FCP. Last year a few family members of mine saw a party arrive to their lot and promptly take a handsaw and cut down the little saplings that stood between their lot and the newcomers'. They cut down all the low hanging (still live) branches and cut into and r...

Re: Camping courtesy

My trailer has the hookup on the far OPPOSITE side of the living area, thus the generator has to stay on that side, correct? *** referencing: "We had one neighbour run his generator well behind his trailer just feet from where we were eating supper." In my instance, this guy deliberately ...

Re: Camping courtesy

Ugh, so many people just don't care anymore, they only think about their own little bubble and don't take any consideration for others around them... We had one neighbour run his generator well behind his trailer just feet from where we were eating supper. Thanks dude. On the other side we had neigh...

Good for you! Hope you get plenty of sunny skies and great weather! I so wish we could be heading back... We were there for 10 night in July and it wasn't near long enough. Enjoy your time!

Re: Mosquitoes?

We were there two weeks ago and had some mosquito activity, but nothing too bad. The black flies were a little unexpected though. OUCH. My husband had a severe reaction to them, his legs still look awful. :blackfly:

Re: Fish Creek May 8, 2014

I am happy to report that rumour must be true! AT&T must have installed a new tower close by. I am able to easily get 4 bars and a consistent 4G connection on my iPhone! Hmm, not sure this is good news for us. At least in years past Chris was able to tell work that he was unreachable for the mo...
