Re: Well, the calendar says FCP is OPEN!!!!

Ice out is happening in the southern Adirondacks. The Sacandaga River into the Great Sacandaga Lake has been clear for a couple of weeks. The GSL around Northville is clear down to Northampton Beach Campground and is working it's way down to Mayfield. It got up to 64 F here today so the melting got ...

Re: do they have t-shirts of fish creek ?

Is there T-shirts you can purchase for Fish CreeK Pond? My mother and Father in law met there. And have camped there every year for the last 50 years except for two. I would like to buy two shirts for them? They are celebrating there anniversary in a few weeks. Can anyone please please help me. The...

Yes, the showers are now free. This has been reported by numerous campers on the FCP FaceBook page repeatedly since the beginning of the season.

Forum Pics via Photobucket

For those that use Photobucket for pic hosting to insert into your forum posts, Photobucket has changed their terms of service. Those of us with free accounts can no longer link our pics into our posts here and on other forums via BBCode. I am really unhappy about this and have closed down my Photob...

Re: First time Boater at FCP. Help

Finding the channel out to Upper Saranac Lake can be a bit of a challenge if you're not familiar with the fourth pond. After you go under the Route 30 bridge, keep to the right shore and go past all the Donaldson's cottages. At the end of the pond, and a bit to the right, you'll see a small swimming...

Re: So excited- Less than 2 weeks

It's been such crappy weather and cold so far this spring. Finally looking better though for next week. Never seen the campground so quiet with the kids out of school and so many empty sites! Where is everyone? We had a couple of pretty nice days just before you returned, but there were a lot of ra...

Re: unattended site

Does anyone know if you can leave your site unattended (but still set up) for 24-36 hours. I have a site for a week, but need to leave for 24-36 in the middle of the reservation. The site will still be set up, but there will not a be vehicle there. If anyone knows the rule on this would greatly app...

Re: Anyone use a hybrid trailer at FCP?

Hi, so this is the first year we are hauling our trailer to FCP, we normally have a rental unit delivered. Really nervous about camping in our unit for a week on just battery power (we have never done that, lol) but not sure why since we rent units and it is always fine. Anyway, any tips for campin...

Re: Heat for campers

Hi, Just wondering what everyone does for heat on the cooler Adirondack nights in early June. Have never been to the park this early in the year so looking for options/suggestions. Thanks. The answer totally depends on your own camping style. If you have a pop-up, travel trailer, fifth wheeler, or ...

Re: Dump station???

Rather than try to explain the many ins and outs of black and gray tank use and maintenance in a single forum post, I am going to suggest that you do some YouTube searching. There are many, many videos there covering every aspect of RV ownership. Holding tanks are a favorite. Another good choice is ...

Re: Successful reservation on the first attempt...

Consider yourself fortunate. We tried for 140 sites at the end of September beginning of October and we couldn't get anything. Went for low 200 sites when that failed and they went instantly. The sites in the 140 & 150 area may well be some of the most popular sites in the whole park for the en...

Re: Fish Creek/Rollins Vendors 2016

Just wondering if any body started an ice cream truck for Fish Creek? The rest of the vendors running? Thanks. Campers have been totally silent on that. I would expect that if an ice cream vendor were to start up, we'd hear about it quite loudly and immediately both here and on the FCP group. I bel...

Re: ? Navigating Pontoon Boat from FCP ?

Nah I'm talking about donuts on a PWC. Speed limit I'm wondering what it is on the open water. 45 mph? Anytime I've seen PWCs doing donuts and similar, the ranger's boat generally appears pretty quickly and apparently asks them to stop. d Edit to add... As for speed limits, we've seen some pretty l...

Re: Boat Launch

The DEC being in charge of Fish Creek is honestly the worst thing ever. I hate that NYS hasn't consolidated and just run them under the same umbrella. The NYS Parks, Parks, get so much funding from the State that results in new launches and new bathrooms, updated infrastructure. Its a shame they gi...
