More Campsite Photos Coming Soon! Buck Pond

Postby CampADK » Fri Sep 28, 2012 6:30 pm

On the way back from Lake Placid today, we stopped at Buck Pond to do a campsite photo shoot. I figured/told Kate it would take an hour. 3 hours later I have some 800+ photos of all the sites. Beautiful fall colors abound! A real shame that Buck Pond is already closed for the season. Looks like a great place for paddlers, and/or those that like a more private camping experience than us Fish Creekers. I'll be loading up these and all the other campground photos I took this season later in the fall.

Buck Pond features 112 sites and is 53 miles north east of Fish Creek. It's open mid May through Labour Day weekend. Nightly fees are $20.

The campground spans both Buck Pond and Lake Kushaqua...

Lots of great waterways to explore! Even has a 'Square Pond' like Fish Creek...

A few shots of Buck Pond for reference...

Most sites are fairly private. Some are on the water or have water access. Approx 12 sites have water access. This is one of the few where you have a great view out right from your site...

Water views are more on the wild side...

A few site have mountain views too!

Great sandy beach area...
