Meacham Lake Opening Earlier Than Scheduled

Postby CampADK » Wed May 23, 2012 4:47 pm

Meacham Lake was scheduled not to open until June 22nd as there have been working on a new water/electrical system this spring. They are way ahead of schedule. No that doesn't mean there will be any electrical sites.Lots of road work being completed now that the new water lines are in. I believe they will be open this weekend. They were flushing out the lines today and mowing grass etc.

Spend a good 4 hours taking photos of all the campsites. There are some pretty sweet waterfront sites there indeed!

For water sites, sites in the 92-166 stretch are pretty sweet with amazing views across the lake and some have small beaches. The upper loop you mentioned are some of the nicest off water sites I have seen in the ADK. Very nice setting. I usually only take one or two shots of the generic off water sites, but in the case of the area you are talking of, I took lots of photos from many angles.
