Historic Photos of Fish Creek Between 1916 and 1934

Postby CampADK » Tue Apr 01, 2008 1:30 pm

I now have a new photo album up, of old photos from as far back as pre CCC camp days at Fish Creek. These are being used with permision of the New York State Archives.

As a refresher on Fish Creek History, Fish Creek was originally opened to the public as a Conservation Commision Camp back in 1920, and later became a 'DEC' campground in 1970 (I believe).

Prior to 1920, it appears there was a Camp Benham's located on one of the 3 ponds that make up the current day campground, although it could have been located on Lower Fish Creek Pond on the other side of Route 30.... not sure.

Anyways the new album can be found at http://fishcreekpond.com/nystatearchivesfcp.html

Cheers
