Ontario Park Trip

Postby PS600REVX » Fri Sep 29, 2017 11:46 am

Hi guys, did an Ontario Park loop in mid September to take advantage of the 75+ degree crazy nice weather. Started at Bon Echo per Dave's recommendation over the years, hit Rock Lake in Algonquin then on to Arrowhead by Huntsville. Loved Bon Echo, love Algonquin, Rock Lake is my favorite in Algonquin as I've been to most of the Algonquin Parks. Enjoy how far it is away from 60 and any vehicle noise. A few of their parks are too close to the hwy for my liking. And finally, Arrowhead was great. All 3 are great for paddling as I did numerous routes at each place. I'd still say though, in all my OPP travels, Killbear is still my favorite all around park. Sure, some have better paddling and better hiking , but Killbear has it all plus awesome beaches . Happy travels .

Glad you got to make it up here! I agree Killbear is really nice. Have only been once. Did you make Killarney?

I didn't hit Killarney yet. It's def at the top of my list. I hear the paddling and just how pristine the area is , is 2nd to none. I need to hit it on a very warm stretch next year. It's so much colder normally than even Killbear 2 hours south.

Add Algonquin to your list too while you are in the area.

Yep, was just at Rock Lake when I did this last trip. I've been to most of the canpgrounds on the main stretch in Algonquin.
