OT: Camping in PA?

Postby BigDaveyL » Thu Mar 22, 2012 1:09 pm

Didn't know where to post this, so my apologies.

I'm considering camping in PA, mainly Nothern/Noethwestern.

Has anyone camped at Cooks Forest? I remember hiking there as a kid/teenager as my grandparents (grandmother now) live near by. Always been impressed with the trails.

I know there's a camping area around the Grand Canyon of PA, but I read in the 100 Best Campsites in PA, that it doesn't have showers. (The author who wrote the NY version didn't think too highly of FCP so...) Anyone know if this is the case, still?

Don't know about what they said but the PA state listing says Cook has showers and even electrical, though I did not probe to see if that is for all campsites or a few.
