Had to abort our plans to see the falls at Watkins Glen yesterday... too much water!

Hoping its open today. Beautiful day.

Yesterday we started out to visit a bunch of wineries in Keuka Lake region. We were going to go completely around the lake in one day making stops. DUH! Pretty much impossible, even with a designated drive.

We manage just TWO!

We were side tracked in the various antique stores in Hammondsport for one.

First sipping stop was Bully Hill where we had HUGE tasting samples. Luckily we had lunch as suggested. Awesome! Some of the best food we have had in the state. Bully Hill was Kates favorite winery of the trip so far. Great views from any of the wineries on the West side of Keuka Lake. We left with a bottle of Love My Goat and Growers White.

Second stop was Dr Franks which sported a huge deck with panoramic lake view outside. Probably the best view of any. We tasted inside however. Left with a bottle of Dry Reisling.

If you're even in this area, think about your routes while pulling a trailer. The 'hills' are pretty major around the Keuka Lake region.

On our return we spent 1 1/4 hours looking for propane refill. Talk about frustrating. Everyone seemed to think we could simple swap tanks at any gas station. Not the big tanks. We asked a good dozen people, who offered many leads involving lots of driving. One guy even called a bunch of his friends to see who offered refills. The last gas station we stopped at the guy didn't know of any place that had propane. Turned out they sold propane right next door! Duh!

Off to the falls.

Spent about 3 hours walking up/down the falls at Watkins Glen today. Awesome place! Should have arrived earlier in the morning before the sun starts to shine in. Kind of ruins some photos.

Took photos of all the campsites here at the campground. Another park to add to the Campsite Photos tool...

Cheers

Spent the day at Taughannock Falls. A must see destination, and only 1/2 hour from Watkins Glen. We did things the hard way. Parked at the overview of the falls, then hiked down the 300 or so vertical farther downstream, hiked back up the gorge to the base of the waterfalls (another 20 minutes). Then back out and back up. A good workout indeed! Easier way is to drive down from the top and hike into the base. We need to do a bit more prep work on these trips.

Found a great trailer sales lot along the way. Just vintage trailers. A great place to visit if you into the old trailers. Took a ton of photos. An unexpected find!

Missed out on Hazlitt WIneries but managed to visit Lucas and Hector Wineries. Lucas was one of our favorites. Hector is pretty small buy they also have motorized Extreme Coolers for sale which are one of a kind! Might come in handy at Fish Creek.

Lots of great photos to post later.

Hope you enjoyed Letchworth and the Finger Lakes. Ever get through Geneseo? Was there this weekend. It was the wettest ground in the past 10 years of camping there. Huge thunderstrom rolled through Sunday night and we left in the nick of time. Our site was completely flooded. Can't wait to check out Sampson this 4th of July.
