Re: July?

Does anyone know when FCP wll be taking reservations through July of 2007? On the forum main page as well as the reservation page on this site, it shows the date for which you may make reservations (the 9 month window). Today is Oct 1/06. You may reserve a camping trip starting no later than July 1...

Hi..er.. Miss ADK. You don't know who I am... it doesn't matter. Anyway I think this is a marvelous idea! Your husband... now what was his name? Oh yes Dave... he must care for you and wants to spend time with you by a roaring campfire, enjoy the fall colors and cooking you wonderful meals in the fr...

Steve how do you deal with the wind with the lean-too? Seems to me if your on the windy side of Square Pond, thats a real issue. I have enough issues with my Paha-Que shelter. You must have some heavy duty ropes and pegs as that baby will sure scope up some lake breeze! Can it survive this? http://t...

Reserve America Bugs

While working on the campsite guide, and refering to the new Reserve America site, I found a few bugs you might want to know about. Hope I can 're-find' the others, but firstly when accessing sites by 'Area of Campground', if you click on 'Sites 138-159', you will end up with a map showing just 138 ...

FCP Fireplaces

FCP 4 US mentioned the issue of those new metal fire rings, so I thought I'd start a topic on these. I haven't minded too much having a site like 103 which features the modern fire ring... then again the view from 103 was pretty nice... http://fishcreekpond.com/images/nighttime20.jpg Then we have th...

Towed his boat from Detroit? LOL. Thats a haul! Actually we bought our 17ft runabout last year, just because of Fish Creek. We store it a boat storage place about 10 minutes north of Fish Creek, and leave it there all summer. Don't know anyone at the park or DEC who knows about this site. Haven't me...

Thanks Steve for sharing that. I'll be interested in looking into a lean-to, as soon as I finish my FCP porty-dock plans. First prototype should be out and tested in the field (or is that the pond?) early next spring. The lean-to plans can now be accessed at http://fishcreekpond.com/content/view/37/...

Nice! A 9 1/2 hour treck shows true dedication! That is the farthest I have heard anyone driving to camp at FCP. Thanks for helping spread the word. We have met so many great people at FCP that we thought it would be great to have somewhere to meet as well when the camper is parked back home. As far...

Diane,

There is a nice kennel in Ray Brook as well (Saranac Lake), just in case that is an option. You can check it out if you want when you visit over Christmas.

Ok time for :baconandeggs: and :reading:

Cheers

Spring TearUp June 15-17, 2007

For those who aren't aware, there is an informal get together of campers at Fish Creek Pond June 15-17, 2007. This is a yearly get together of teardrop trailer enthusiasts, but you certainly don't have to have a teardrop to participate! For more about the TearUp, see http://tearuptheadk.com/ The sit...
