Re: CampADK Road Trip 2013 - Lakeside NH/VT/NY

I'll be using this as a guide for out-of-state camping for sure.

PS - how many miles do you put on your car in a year? lol

Re: Supporting the Adirondack Recreational Trail Association

This is an awesome idea. I would visit the area more often if such a trail existed.

Wow the lake is still pretty frozen. Big difference from lakes in the capital region!

Re: Opening Weekend April 12, 2013

Wow look at that radar. The way things are going the snow will still be up there in May!

Which brings me to my next point - the weather has been very stormy lately. Makes me wonder if we will see any derecho-type storms over the course of the summer months.

Re: Opening Weekend Site List Extended

It's a tent that can be 100% sealed from the elements whereas other tents have their rainfly vented. The 4 season is also stronger and can stand up to high winds (think backcountry/above treeline camping) as well as have snow build up on it without collapsing. http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/74636?fe...

Thinking about picking up a 4-season tent and staying for a few nights in April.

Re: Motor Limits

Pretty sure the limit still applies whether you use the motor or not. So no you wouldn't be able to use the boat with the bigger motor still attached.

Re: CampADK Trip Report Aug 6-20, 2012

I just got back from site 50 this afternoon, we arrived on Monday. Had 1 night of rain but still had a fire every night. Nights were cool and the campground was peacefully quiet after 10pm. :booboo:

Re: Special Thanks For All Your Help!

I believe I saw you and your wife leaving on Monday. Dark blue Yukon towing a sweet airstream. I was on site 50. Sorry to hear about your back, hope you heal up in time for the next trip :fullmoon:

That sign has to have been there for at least 20 years.

Re: Paddling into Follensby Clear Pond

Yea those planks help a ton. I walked the portage last year but didn't feel like carrying my 50lb kayak with me, haha.
