Verizon Cell Service

We are looking for an UPDATE on cell service for Verizon customers. I know it varies from place to place around the ponds. We have had good service in the past and would just like to know if it has changed. We are booked in the loop by the amphitheater. We will need to hot spot a computer for intern...

Water Level

Does anyone have information about the water level in the ponds, at the launches and through to channel out to Saranac?

Heard it was down 1 1/2 feet in Middle Saranac....

Re: Feeding the ducks/wildlife?

Scary. Our neighbor is a duck hunter, and he has seen ducks lure a dog out beyond where they can touch and then try to take them under. Our dog is always on a 30 foot lead when she swims so we can reel her back in if we need to. Just a thought....

Re: Irresponsible Dog Owner

I agree with everything said here....especially kkirsch. This will get people going again on the dog ban. Someone several years ago (5+) had their Rottweiler off leash. It came into my site where my dog was leashed. Scared the you know what out of me. I yelled at the guy and reminded him that he sig...

Re: Feeding the ducks/wildlife?

Bad idea. Someone fed the geese before we got to our site last year and the geese came ashore looking for handouts. They were not too afraid of our dog. They made a colossal mess one day when we were not there to shoo them away. We had to block the water access with our canoe, so they would not come...

Re: Don't Cut Those Trees!

Lt Poopsie...the person I am referring to knows who they are, and I did say something to them. Their outrage is what is hypocritical. If you have not cut trees, etc., then I am not speaking about you. So sorry that you take offense to my comments. In terms of the goofy, stupid and potentially danger...

Re: Don't Cut Those Trees!

It is pretty hypocritical to have such outrage about cutting limbs off trees when I witnessed a member of this forum doing just that in mid-August of 2009. I guess to some using a limb saw to take some pesky limbs down is not the same as the wholesale clearing mentioned here, but to me it is.

Re: Just for Marbel - Whatever Happens at the Dump Stations...

Okay... our best/most disgusting dump station story... A guy was dumping his trailer in front of us. He was not using gloves, but he was eating a sandwich at the time :!: Now that is the big joke while we dump our trailer. "Hey, I could really go for a sandwich right about now." Callie

Re: CampADK's Finger Lakes May 2011 'Blog'

Tom Wahls is a definite stop.... must go to the one in Avon. We just returned from Keuke State Part today ... if you are there or near there on a Saturday, check out the Windmill located between Keuka and Seneca lakes. It is a flea market-ish conglomeration of little shops, stalls, etc, 200 in all. ...

Re: Trailer questions

We started with the tent...moved to the pop-up...moved again to the 23 foot Surveyor and are picking up the new 26 foot Flagstaff tomorrow :) We have just done a lot of research on what our TV can really pull -- with room to spare. There are some really good forums out there dedicated to helping you...

Re: Recommendations for Next Summer

We camp at Keuka a few times each year. I agree that the site are unusually large and they all do have rows of bushes and trees between them to give privacy. They are also all grass sites -- really nice for our dog and for playing lawn games. The fire pits are all rings. The sites are not on the wat...

Re: I have the sads

We are headed out to Turning Stone RV and Camping Resort this weekend for the final trip of the season (buy one night, get one free weekend). With the full hook-ups (including cable TV -- got to remember to put the TV in), we will flush the system and winterize before we head home to put her into st...
