My pleasure :)

Re: Ice Status - Photo Review - 17 to 19th April

Hi Dave ! There was only 3 or 4 (or maybe 5) other sites occupied this week-end... 1 big motor home (maybe the same as last year ?) in front of WC, a small one that arrived Saturday + 2 or 3 sites with regular tents and some loud music :( that stopped before we went to have a chat with them... ;) St...

Re: Quiet wooded campsite near the water?

Hi, We have never been to FCP or Rollins in the high season but we had a look at what could be interesting (quiet) sites in the regular season. I would suggest C13 or C14 (even better) for privacy... But no lake view there (or limited stars view)... It also depends if you have a tent or a big camper...

Ice Status - Photo Review - 17 to 19th April

Here's an ice status update from FCP to Floodwood. It is now possible to paddle from sites 35-50 up to Floodwood. Sunday we had to find our way through some light melted ice but the channel is probably easy to find now. As of sunday afternoon, FCP and Floodwood themselves were still frozen. Less sno...

Re: Ice Status - Opening week-end

Hi Dave,

Pictures will have to wait another week :( ...

I just spoke with someone at the park and he went to check the stream access close to the bridge.
Part of the stream is unfrozen but he doesn't think we could go very far with the kayaks.

Re: Ice Status - Opening week-end

Looking at the pics I have the feeling the stream at FCP is probably OK up to Copperas Pond or Little Square Pond. Maybe even Floodwood... Maybe we'll give it a try leaving Montreal early Saturday morning instead of Friday for a single night of camping. Lake access for campsites close to the bridge ...

Re: Ice Status - Opening week-end

At the moment, the 17-19th weekend weather look almost like a cut & paste of this next weekend ! I'll keep checking the forum next week to see if there's any update or pictures provided by early campers. In the meantime I found a couple of possible kayak day-trip destinations close to Montreal t...

Re: Ice Status - Opening week-end

Look like we'll skip opening week-end... :(

Setting-up the camp under the cold rain + being unsure about stream condition wins over what should be a very nice Sunday :(

Let's hope weather will be better next weekend.

Re: Ice Status - Opening week-end

I am trying to get in touch with the camp to get an update about the stream condition next to the bridge. I am calling 518-891-4560 but there is no one in the office. I don't want to leave a message since it's a long distance call. Is there any other way to get in touch with someone actually in the ...
